But as I read farther into the book, I realized how Bodega really is as a person. Bodega wants everything for himself. He sells drugs to people for money to try and help others, but just to get others on his side so when he gets in trouble they will all back him up. You can also tell he wants things to himself because he wants to marry Vera who is already married and he wants to make that change and talk to her about marrying him.
